Product benefits

Innovative area monitoring
The Dräger X-zone 5000 transforms the Dräger personal gas detection instruments X-am 5000 into innovative area monitoring devices for a wide range of applications. A patented combination for increased safety and reduced cost – used in combination with personal air monitors or independently, these area monitors are positioned where gas hazards are likely to occur.
Piercing audible and attention getting visual alarms – 360°
Even from a distance, the illuminated green LED ring indicates that the air is clean. Upon detection of gas hazards, the LED color changes from green to red, thus providing a clear visual warning that gas is present. Additionally, a loud and highly audible alarm is emitted. The Dräger X-zone 5000 gas entry is designed so that gas can diffuse into the Dräger X-zone 5000 from all sides, providing optimum safety.
Wireless fence line
Up to 25 Dräger X-zone 5000 can be automatically interconnected to form a wireless fence line. This interconnection of area monitoring devices allows for rapid deployment even in larger areas. In the event of a gas alarm, the Dräger X-zone 5000 transmits the alarm signal to all units that are part of the fence line to sound a daughter alarm. The unit initiating the alarm flashes red, while the daughter alarm displayed green/red by the illuminated LED ring, thus allowing fast and easy recognition of the general as well as the original alarm-triggering device.
Area monitoring via diffusion or with a sampling pump
An optional integrated pump allows for continuous monitoring of difficult to access areas during operation. This provides continuous monitoring of confined spaces and locations for improved safety – from a distance of up to 45 m (150 ft.).
Alarm contact to connect to external equipment
Via the potential-free alarm contact, the Dräger X-zone 5000 device can connect to and operate external equipment such as alarm horns, lamps or traffic lights. In addition, the fence line signal from the alarm contact can be forwarded to a control room – overseeing a wide range of applications.
Available for use in Ex-zone 0
Area monitoring devices provide their best productivity and protection when they are located within an explosion hazard area, even during a gas alarm. Therefore, it is important that the devices are approved for use in even the most dangerous explosion hazard areas, especially zone 0. The approvals for X-zone 5000 enable the continuous operation of the device in an explosive atmosphere and environment.
Continuous operation for up to 120 hours
The x-zone offers battery options for up to 120 hours of run time. This allows continuous monitoring to help minimize new atmospheric checks of the atmosphere for each shift change or break for increased productivity.
