Social Involvement
We are very aware of our social responsibilities at Dräger. Our involvement focuses on projects in the areas of education and social issues. With financial support, donations and services, we open up new perspectives for the future of our youth and support society as a whole.
In line with our guiding principle, we aim to make life a little better everyday. Our involvement is always carried out in accordance with our business operations as well as our guiding philosophy "technology for life". Our involvement spans from supporting local schools to equipping hospitals with medical devices.

Examples of our social involvement
Equipping a hospital in the Andes
At the beginning of September 2008, we made a wide-ranging donation of devices to a hospital in the Peruvian Andes. In a region where poverty abounds and medical care is inadequate, we provide help for those who normally would not receive any. We help the employees to protect, support and save lives in a hospital which is completely reliant on donations.
Supporting child aid organizations
For years we have supported social organizations like the SOS Children’s Villages or UNICEF through our Christmas card fundraiser. A fixed portion of the proceeds from each card goes directly to the organizations as a donation. In 2008, we supported youth projects in Bangladesh. We would like to encourage the youth of the world in this manner – imparting confidence and providing new possibilities for their future.
Helping tsunami victims in Asia
At the start of 2005, we provided quick and sustained assistance for victims of the unexpected tragedy in Southeast Asia. We offered financial aid to the International Red Cross and donated devices to assist both the medical and rescue operations on the ground.
Furnishing a school library in Lübeck
In January 2009, we helped secure the construction of a school library after making a donation to a Lübeck school. This financial support went towards purchasing numerous books, significantly improving future prospects for the children at the school, many of whom were relatively weak in the areas of reading and writing. Now they can discover and checkout new books on a regular basis.
Girls’ Day
At the annual Girls’ Day, schoolgirls have the chance to gain an impression of our world of work. We want to help provide young women with an insight into technical jobs and broaden the horizons of their future career path. Additionally, we show them how interesting and varied professional life is at Dräger.
